State Rep. Randy Ligon Files For Re-Election

Ligon will continue to fight for conservative, common-sense policies


(Chester, S.C.) – State Representative Randy Ligon today filed for re-election to represent House District 43 in the South Carolina House of Representatives. House District 43 covers most of Chester County and a portion of York County.


“Serving the people of Chester and York counties is one of the greatest honors of my life. In these challenging times, I’m looking forward to getting back to work to serve our citizens,” said Ligon. “It's difficult to focus on politics right now, but Governor McMaster and team South Carolina are working hard to protect our state and save lives. I thank them for their leadership and stand ready to assist.”


Ligon, a Republican, is currently serving his first term in the House of Representatives and sits on the House Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs Committee. He has led on issues like wildlife trafficking and meat product labeling.


Ligon has over 30 years of experience as a farmer, commercial realtor, businessman, and auctioneer. He is a graduate of Lewisville High School and Clemson University. Ligon is a past president of the South Carolina Auctioneers Association, past president of the South Carolina Young Farmers Association, and has been a member of the Chester Rotary Club since 1994. Ligon and his wife Jeannie have two children. They are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
